Expected Impact • No downtime is expected during this maintenance window.
Changes Included Simplification of portal user privilege groups. The current 6 different roles; administrator, registrar, registrant, proxy, billing contact and name server management, will be converted into three groups:
• Administration - this privilege group gives full access to the portal. Managing registrar account details, portfolio and accounting. • Portfolio management - this privilege group gives access to manage the portfolio and accounting functions. Registrar account management excluded. • Accounting - this privilege group gives access to manage accounting functions. Registrar account and portfolio management excluded.
Existing portal users will automatically be transferred to the privilege group that matches the highest access level among their currently assigned roles.
With the transition to privilege groups, linked users will no longer have access to manage the objects to which they are linked. To continue managing the objects in RP/EPP that are currently associated with a linked user, the roles on the object must be taken over by the REG handle.
Our registrar support team will reach out to all affected registrars prior to the release of these changes in order assist to with the required correction of data.
